What Being Vegan Means:

Vegans are dedicated to living a life cruelty free. They are very caring and passionate individuals who want to see a world without the violence brought on by the meat, egg, dairy, and animal testing industries.

Vegans do not use any products made from or tested on animals. This includes: meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, and any clothes, makeup, food, or other products that are made from or tested on animals.

Common Myth: Vegans are unhealthy - NOT TRUE

With a well balanced diet, veganism and vegitarianism are very healthy.

                  * Vegans and vegitarians live on average 6-10 years longer than meat eaters

                  * Vegans and vegitarians are at about a 40% less risk for heart disease

                 * Eating meat can cause heart disease, the vegan diet can reverse this

*There are many other sources of protien for humans besides meat. A few of these include green leafy vegetables and soy.

 Why no milk??

Vegans do not support the dairy industry for several reasons.

1) Drinking milk supports the veal and beef industry. - In order for a cow to give milk, she has to have a calf first. To do this they artificially inseminate her, and then rip the calf away from his mother 24hrs after birth. This little baby is then sent to a veal farm or an auction for a veal farm.

2) Milk has PUS in it! - The United States has the highest acceptable levels of pustules in its milk. This pus comes from the sores caused by the machines used in the milking process.

3) Most of this countries hamburger meat comes from dairy cows. - When these cows can no longer produce the required milk, they are shipped off to the slaughter house, some not even surviving the trip.

Pescatarians - People who do not eat meat, but do eat fish. Pescatarians are NOT vegetarians.

Vegetarians - People who do not eat meat or fish, but do eat dairy products and items with animal products in them.
